Evaluating EdTech: EduMentor Investment Analysis (Apex Ventures)

This project was part of the “Profit & Learn” case competition organized by Apex Ventures, a venture capital firm. I took on the role of a junior investment analyst to evaluate EduMentor, an AI-based edtech startup seeking ₹1.5 Cr in seed funding at a ₹6 Cr pre-money valuation. Over three rounds, I validated EduMentor’s key financial metrics including ARR (₹5.994 Cr), CAC (₹375), and LTV (₹33,566). I conducted a financial health check using core venture capital benchmarks and drafted a detailed investment memo recommending a Green rating based on strong unit economics and early traction. This project deepened my practical understanding of VC analysis, customer lifetime value modeling, and investment decision-making in India’s startup ecosystem. It demonstrates my skills in financial modeling, strategic thinking, and clear business communication.
