Queue Cure – Real-Time Clinic Queue Management Platform

Clinics continue to rely on paper tokens, verbal announcements, and manual queue coordination. Patients often have no visibility into their queue position or expected waiting time, forcing them to repeatedly ask receptionists for updates. Receptionists become communication bottlenecks, while doctors lack real-time visibility into queue progress. The result is uncertainty for patients, increased workload for staff, and inefficient clinic operations. Queue Cure was built to create a shared real-time source of truth for doctors, receptionists, and patients. Process We focused on solving the communication gap in clinic queue management rather than simply digitizing token generation. After analyzing the workflows of doctors, receptionists, and patients, we designed a real-time synchronized queue system with dynamic wait-time estimation and role-based dashboards. Through multiple iterations, we refined the experience to ensure transparent queue visibility, seamless coordination, and instant updates for all stakeholders. Results The final solution transformed clinic queue management into a transparent and real-time experience. Patients can independently track their queue position and estimated wait time, reducing uncertainty and repeated status inquiries. Receptionists can manage registrations and queue flow more efficiently, while doctors gain live visibility into queue progress. The platform establishes a single synchronized source of truth, enabling seamless coordination and a more predictable waiting experience for all stakeholders. Reflection While building Queue Cure, I realized I should have trusted the bigger product vision earlier. The hackathon focused on basic queue screens, but the real challenge was creating a shared, real-time system for doctors, receptionists, and patients. As I progressed, I identified many complexities and solved several of them, but recognizing them sooner would have made the system more cohesive. If I rebuilt it, I would design the entire clinic workflow from the start, including edge cases like skipped patients and late arrivals.
