Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Wooble handles personal information for builders who use Wooble talent profiles, applications, and related services on wooble.org.
Effective date: June 15, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Wooble ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Wooble talent profile, opportunities, applications, and related builder services on wooble.org (collectively, the "Services").
The Services are designed for builders and early-career talent who create a proof-backed profile, apply to opportunities, and share demonstrated work with hiring teams.
By creating a profile, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Scope and roles
This policy applies to candidate and builder users who access wooble.org, including public profiles at /in/[username], the profile editor, applications, achievements, and related features.
When you apply to a role or submit work to a company challenge, the hiring company may also process your information as an independent controller for its recruiting activities. This policy describes Wooble's processing; the company's own notices govern its separate use of your data.
3. Information we collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Account and profile data: name, email address, username, headline, bio, location, skills, social links, avatar, authentication credentials (stored as salted password hashes), and session identifiers.
- Proof-of-work content: projects, challenge submissions, achievements, portfolio media, application answers, résumé or document uploads, and related metadata.
- Applications and activity: roles you apply to, application status, interview participation, mock-interview sessions, and in-app notifications.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, request logs, and security events needed to operate and protect the Services.
- Communications: support tickets, feedback, and other messages you send to us.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain your profile, applications, and builder tools.
- Authenticate you, manage sessions, and prevent unauthorized access.
- Display your public profile and share application materials with companies you choose to engage with.
- Generate signed upload and download links for files you store with Wooble.
- Send service-related notices, including application updates and account security alerts.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability and security.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; legitimate interests in operating a secure talent platform; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where required, such as for optional communications or public profile visibility settings.
7. Storage, security, and retention
Account data, profile content, applications, and session information are stored in managed PostgreSQL databases. Uploaded files are stored in cloud object storage configured for the candidate surface.
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, encrypted transport, hashed credentials, and least-privilege service accounts.
We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, accounting, or security requirements. You may request deletion of account data subject to applicable law and legitimate business needs.
9. International processing
Wooble is based in India. Your information may be processed in India and in other countries where our service providers operate, including cloud regions used for hosting and storage.
Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers consistent with applicable law.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to receive a copy of information you provided.
You can update much of your profile in the app, control public visibility where settings are available, or contact us to exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with dedicated privacy laws, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
11. Children
The Services are intended for users who are old enough to participate in employment-related activities in their jurisdiction. They are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above.
Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
