Queue Cure — Real-time Hospital Queue Management System
76% of India's 1.5 million clinics run on paper token slips. Patients wait 2-3 hours with zero visibility into when they'll be called. Receptionists manage everything from memory, leading to errors and chaos during peak hours. Process Started by identifying the core pain: patients don't mind waiting, they mind not knowing how long. Built two screens — a receptionist portal for fast token management and a patient display for live queue visibility. Used Socket.io for real-time updates with a polling fallback for deployment on Vercel. Results Live queue updates in under 3 seconds. Token numbers reset automatically daily. Handles edge cases like empty queue, duplicate submissions, and serverless deployment. Deployed live on Vercel. Reflection Add patient self-registration via QR code, SMS notifications when token is next, and multi-counter support for clinics with multiple doctors.
