Queue Qure Reception project

A real-time hospital queue app where the sickest patients get seen first, not just whoever walked in first.

DDharneesh M BQueue Qure Reception project

Overview

In many hospitals, patient queues are still managed using a first-come, first-served (FIFO) approach or manual token systems. This method does not consider critical factors such as patient age, medical severity, or waiting time, which can lead to delays in treating high-risk patients like infants, elderly individuals, or emergency cases. Process Imagine walking into a busy hospital. There are many patients waiting—some with minor issues, some in serious condition, and maybe even a small child who needs urgent attention. In many hospitals, people are treated in the order they arrive. But in real life, this doesn’t always make sense. A child with a fever or a patient in critical condition should not wait behind someone with a mild headache. This is exactly the problem our project solves. The Smart Hospital Queue Management System is designed to make the waiting process more intelligent, fair, and efficient. Instead of following a simple “first come, first served” rule, the system behaves more like a human decision-maker—prioritizing patients based on their condition. When a patient arrives, Results ✅ 1. Successful Implementation of Smart Queue System The project successfully developed a real-time hospital queue management system that replaces the traditional FIFO method with a dynamic priority-based approach. The system was able to: Register patients with basic details Assign tokens automatically Maintain a live queue Select patients based on priority instead of order ⚖️ 2. Efficient Priority-Based Patient Handling The system demonstrated effective prioritization using: Severity of condition → critical patients treated faster Age factor → children (especially below 3) and elderly pri Reflection ⚖️ 1. Smart Priority Instead of FIFO 👉 Traditional systems: Follow First Come First Serve (FIFO) 👉 Your system: Uses intelligent priority scoring Based on: Age (👶 children <3 get priority) Severity (🚑 critical patients first) Waiting time (⏳ fairness) 📌 What’s different? Your system thinks like a doctor, not just a machine. 📡 2. Real-Time Multi-Screen Sync 👉 Most basic projects: Static display or manual refresh 👉 Your system: Uses live updates (Socket.IO) Reception + Display screen sync instantly 📌 What’s different? No refresh, no delay — fully real-time hospital flow 🔊
