QueueCure26 – Real-Time Smart Queue Management System for Healthcare Clinics

In many clinics, patients have to wait for a long time without knowing when their turn will come. Staff members also find it difficult to manage queues manually, especially during busy hours. This creates confusion, overcrowding, and delays. I wanted to build a system that allows patients to track their position in the queue in real time and helps clinic staff manage appointments more efficiently. Process First, I studied the problems people face in clinic waiting areas and understood how queues are usually managed. Then I planned a solution with three sections: a Patient Portal, a Staff Dashboard, and a TV Display Board. I built the frontend using Next.js and React and created the backend using Express.js. To provide live updates, I used Socket.IO so that any change in the queue is instantly visible to everyone. I also used Supabase for storing and managing data. After testing the system and fixing deployment issues, I deployed the frontend on Vercel and the backend on Render. Results QueueCure26 successfully provides real-time queue updates for patients, staff, and clinic display screens. The system was deployed online using Vercel and Render, making it accessible from anywhere. Through testing, I confirmed that queue changes are instantly reflected across connected users using Socket.IO. The project helped me gain hands-on experience with full-stack development, real-time communication, cloud deployment, and database integration. Overall, the solution improves transparency in clinic waiting processes and reduces confusion for both patients and staff. Reflection If I continue working on this project, I would add user authentication for doctors and staff, appointment booking features, and patient notifications through SMS or email. I would also improve the analytics dashboard to provide insights such as average waiting time and daily patient statistics. In addition, I would conduct more user testing with actual clinic staff and patients to gather feedback and further improve the user experience.
