Queue Cure '26 - Real-Time Clinic Queue Management System
Reduced patient waiting uncertainty with live token tracking and estimated wait times.
MMurugan JananiOverview
Many clinics in India still rely on paper token slips and manual queue management, causing patients to wait 2–3 hours without knowing when they'll be called. Receptionists manually track patients, and doctors lack a real-time dashboard. Our goal was to build a digital queue management system that reduces waiting uncertainty, streamlines patient flow, and provides synchronized information to receptionists, doctors, and patients. We first analyzed the existing clinic workflow and identified the pain points experienced by patients and staff. We designed two interfaces: a receptionist dashboard and a patient waiting room view. The receptionist dashboard allows adding patients, setting average consultation time, and calling the next token. The patient view displays the current token, tokens ahead, and estimated waiting time. We implemented live synchronization so both screens update instantly whenever a token changes. Throughout development, we focused on simplicity, usability, and real-time responsiveness. The solution digitizes clinic queue management and improves transparency for both patients and staff. Patients can track their position in the queue and estimated waiting time, reducing uncertainty and crowding. Receptionists can manage patients efficiently without relying on paper records. The system demonstrates how digital tools can improve clinic operations, save time, and enhance the overall patient experience.
