Overview

Many clinics in India still rely on paper token systems and manual queue management. Patients often wait 2–3 hours without knowing when they will be called, leading to frustration and overcrowding. Receptionists manage appointments and queues manually, which increases errors and delays. Doctors also lack real-time visibility into patient flow. QueueCure was developed to digitize clinic queues through online appointments, digital tokens, real-time queue tracking, and a doctor dashboard, improving efficiency and reducing waiting time. Process I started by analyzing common challenges faced in clinics, including long waiting times, manual token management, and lack of queue visibility. Based on these findings, I designed a web-based solution with separate interfaces for patients, receptionists, and doctors. The system was developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, focusing on simplicity and usability. Features such as digital token generation, appointment booking, live queue status, and doctor dashboards were implemented and tested to ensure a smooth user experience. Results Queue Cure successfully digitized the clinic queue process by replacing paper tokens with a real-time queue management system. The solution provides online appointment booking, digital token generation, live queue tracking, and doctor dashboards. This improves transparency for patients, reduces administrative workload for receptionists, and helps doctors manage patient flow more efficiently. The system is designed to reduce waiting times, improve clinic operations, and enhance the overall patient experience. Reflection Given more time, I would integrate SMS and WhatsApp notifications for token updates, add AI-based waiting time prediction, implement secure cloud-based data storage, and develop a mobile application for easier patient access. I would also conduct user testing in real clinics to gather feedback and further improve the system's usability and performance.
