Overview

76% of India's 1.5 million clinics still run on paper token slips and shouting. Patients wait 2–3 hours with zero visibility into when they'll be called. Doctors have no dashboard. Receptionists manage everything from memory. MediQueue solves this with a real-time digital queue system where receptionists can register patients, call the next token, and update the queue instantly, while Process We started by identifying the main friction in small-clinic queues: manual token slips, repeated patient questions, and no live wait-time visibility. We then mapped the receptionist and patient journeys separately, built a React dashboard for queue control, connected it to an Express and MongoDB backend, and added Socket.IO so every token update appears instantly on patient devices. Finally, we tested the demo flow end to end with seeded patients, live token calling, completion states, and mobile-friendly patient tracking. Results MediQueue delivers a working real-time clinic queue system with separate receptionist and patient views. Receptionists can register patients in about 10 seconds, call the next token, mark consultations complete, and reset demo data quickly. Patients can open a mobile-friendly tracker to see their token, current serving token, patients ahead, estimated wait time, and live updates without refreshing the page. Reflection MediQueue is different because it is built for small clinics, not large hospital systems. It keeps the workflow simple: the receptionist registers a patient, the system generates a token, and patients can track their turn live from their phone. Unlike basic token displays, MediQueue also shows patients ahead, estimated wait time, current doctor details, real-time Socket.IO updates, demo reset mode, and optional voice announcements.
