QueueSync — Smart Digital Queue Management for Clinics

Small clinics still manage patient queues using paper tokens, verbal announcements, and manual registers. This creates long waiting times, confusion among patients, and unnecessary pressure on reception staff. Patients often have no idea how long they need to wait, while doctors and clinic owners lack visibility into queue performance. The goal was to build a digital queue management system that helps neighbourhood clinics manage patient flow in real time. The solution needed to allow receptionists to quickly register patients, automatically assign tokens, calculate estimated waiting times, a I started by understanding the problems faced in traditional clinic waiting systems: long unpredictable waits, overcrowded reception areas, and manual queue management. I focused on designing a solution that would be simple enough for receptionists to use during busy hours while also giving patients visibility into their waiting status. The first step was mapping the complete patient journey: Patient arrives → Reception registers patient → Token assigned → Patient waits → Doctor calls next patient → Queue updates. Based on this flow, I divided the product into three main experiences: Receptionist Dashboard Fast patient registration Token generation Queue control Doctor availability tracking Patient Waiting View Current token being served Patient's position in queue Estimated waiting ti The prototype successfully demonstrates a complete digital clinic queue workflow — from patient registration and token generation to live queue updates and wait-time estimation. Receptionists can add patients quickly, while patients get real-time visibility into their position and expected waiting time. The system reduces uncertainty, minimizes manual queue tracking, and improves clinic flow through data-driven insights. Next, I would validate the solution with real clinics, improve prediction accuracy using historical queue data, and expand features like WhatsApp notifications and appointmen Instead of building only a digital token display, I created a complete real-time clinic operations system that connects receptionists, doctors, and patients in one workflow. I focused on reducing patient uncertainty by providing live queue updates, estimated waiting times, and patient notifications. I also added smart priority handling for emergency cases, doctor availability tracking, and analytics to help clinics understand their performance.
