ClinicFlow – Real-Time Clinic Queue Management Platform
Many small clinics still rely on paper tokens and manual queue management, making it difficult for patients to know their waiting status and for staff to handle queue progression efficiently. Receptionists spend time answering queue-related queries, while missed patients and multi-doctor scheduling create delays and confusion. The lack of real-time visibility results in poor patient experience and increased administrative overhead. ClinicFlow solves this with digital token generation, live queue tracking, multi-doctor support, and automated queue progression. Process I studied how small clinics manage patient queues and identified three key issues: poor queue visibility, manual token handling, and delays caused by missed patients. I built ClinicFlow as a real-time queue management platform with separate dashboards for receptionists and patients. The first version focused on digital token generation and live queue tracking. I then integrated Supabase Realtime for instant updates across all users. During testing, I added no-show alerts to notify staff when a patient does not respond within 30 seconds. Finally, I implemented multi-doctor queues, live patient tracking, analytics, and consultation metrics to improve efficiency and patient experience. Results ClinicFlow successfully digitized clinic queue management with real-time updates across receptionists and patients. Token generation became instant, queue status was synchronized live, and staff received alerts for missed patients to reduce delays. Multi-doctor support enabled simultaneous queue management, while analytics provided visibility into consultation times and daily operations. The solution improved queue transparency, reduced manual coordination, and created a smoother experience for both staff and patients. Reflection Given more time, I would integrate real SMS and WhatsApp notifications, support online appointment booking, and build a dedicated patient mobile experience. I would also conduct trials with real clinics to gather feedback, integrate patient feedback directly into the platform, and further refine the workflow to improve both patient and staff experiences.
