Welcome to Wooble ("we," "us," "our," or the "Platform"). Wooble is operated by Wooble Software Private Limited, a company registered in India.

Wooble is a talent discovery platform for technology professionals. We connect early-career tech talent with companies through hackathons, structured project portfolios, and skills-based hiring. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website at wooble.org and any associated services.

By accessing or using Wooble, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

  • Students and fresh graduates exploring career opportunities in technology
  • Early-to-mid career technology professionals (up to 5 years of experience)
  • Companies, colleges, and organizations that host or partner on hackathons
  • Hiring partner companies that access talent through the Platform

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use the Platform, we may collect:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password. You may also sign up or log in using Google or LinkedIn OAuth, in which case we receive the profile information you authorize those services to share.
  • Profile Information: College or university name, degree, graduation year, work experience, skills, profile photo, and links to LinkedIn, GitHub, or other professional profiles.
  • Resume and Portfolio Data: Uploaded resumes, structured project profiles (including problem statements, approaches, tools used, and project artifacts such as code, files, screenshots, and links to repositories or deployed projects).
  • Hackathon Participation Data: Submissions (code, files, documents, links), team formation details, scores, rankings, and judge feedback.
  • Identity Verification Documents: In limited cases where verification is required, we may collect government-issued identification documents.
  • Communications: Messages, feedback, or support requests you send to us.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect:

  • Device and Browser Information: Device type, operating system, browser type and version, and screen resolution.
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed, referring URLs, and actions taken on the Platform.
  • Location Data: Approximate location derived from your IP address. We may also collect city-level location information you provide in your profile.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: See Section 8 for details.

3.3 Information from Third Parties

  • OAuth Providers: If you sign up via Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email, and profile picture as authorized by you.
  • Hackathon Partners: Companies or colleges hosting hackathons on the Platform may provide participant lists or related information.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Platform, including account creation, profile management, and hackathon participation.
  • Match talent with opportunities by surfacing your profile and portfolio to hiring partner companies on the Platform.
  • Personalize your experience by recommending relevant hackathons, learning resources, and career opportunities.
  • Communicate with you via email about platform updates, hackathon invitations, learning content, and promotional offers.
  • Improve the Platform through analytics, usage trends, debugging, and error tracking.
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud, including verifying user identity when necessary.
  • Comply with legal obligations under applicable laws and regulations.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

5.1 Hiring Partner Companies

Your profile, portfolio, project submissions, and contact details may be visible to companies that are hiring partners on the Platform. This is core to how Wooble works. You can control your profile visibility through your account settings (see Section 9).

5.2 Hackathon Host Organizations

When you participate in a hackathon hosted by a company or college on the Platform, the hosting organization may access your profile information, submissions, and contact details for evaluating participants and conducting the event.

5.3 Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:

5.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

6. Payment Information

Wooble uses Razorpay as its payment gateway for processing transactions. We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card, debit card, bank account, or UPI details. All payment data is handled directly by Razorpay in accordance with their privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards. Please review Razorpay's Privacy Policy for details.

7. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide you with our services.
  • Account deletion: When you request account deletion, your data is made inactive immediately and permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days of the request.
  • Hackathon submissions: Submissions tied to hackathon evaluations are anonymized after account deletion and may be retained in anonymized form for platform integrity and historical records.
  • Legal obligations: We may retain certain information for longer periods if required by law, for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes, or for enforcing our agreements.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate, analyze, and improve the Platform.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic platform functionality such as authentication and session management.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform, including page views, session duration, and feature usage.
  • Advertising and Tracking Cookies: We use Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) for advertising measurement, conversion tracking, and audience building on Meta platforms.

  • Profile Visibility: You can hide your profile from hiring partner companies through your account settings.

9.2 Users in the EEA and United Kingdom

Under GDPR, you additionally have rights including rectification, restriction, portability, objection, consent withdrawal, and complaint filing with your local authority.

9.3 Users in India

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have rights including access, correction and erasure requests, nomination, and grievance redressal.

9.4 Users in the United States

Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or other state privacy laws. As stated, we do not sell your personal information.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Hashed and encrypted storage of passwords.
  • Regular data backups.
  • Role-based access controls for internal teams.
  • Continuous error monitoring and incident response via Sentry.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

11. International Data Transfers

Wooble operates from India and uses service providers that may process your data in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. Where such transfers occur, we take steps to ensure your data is protected in accordance with applicable laws.

12. Children's Privacy
