Should we stop cash on delivery in these pincodes?
The brief
Haldi & Co. loses money on cash-on-delivery parcels that come back unopened, the problem every Indian D2C brand knows as RTO. Its ops lead wants to switch off COD in the twenty pincodes with the worst return rate. The founder wants to know if that is the right fix and what it would do to the money, and finance wants to know how much COD cash the couriers still owe.
You get the quarter's orders, the courier's shipments and the courier's cash remittances. They don't agree with each other, for the ordinary reasons. Reconcile them, answer the four questions, and write the founder one page: is the ops lead's rule right, and if not, what would you do instead?
When you start, you get the company's files to download, and one of a few versions of what is going on in them.
What to hand in
- Your four answers, in the boxes on this page
- A one-page memo to the founder: your recommendation and what it does to the money
- How you reconciled the three files: each disagreement and the rule you used
- Your working: queries or a notebook
You hand it in as a project on Wooble: what you made, shown working, and a written account of how you made it. A link on its own is not enough.
Free, and always open. Start when you like and hand in when it is ready.
