Build a connected home-care system that brings hospital-like monitoring into a patient's home using IoT, Full Stack and AI/ML. Your system must sense what is happening, understand the signals, predict deterioration and ensure the right person responds before a crisis occurs.

Overview

A hospital has monitors, nurses, alerts and constant supervision. A patient's bedroom usually has none of these. Your challenge is to turn a bedroom into a smart, connected care environment. Build a system that collects patient vitals, monitors medical equipment, verifies caregiver presence, enables real-time communication and uses AI to identify early warning signs. The system should work across different real-world situations, including poor connectivity, power interruptions, unreliable sensor readings and multilingual caregiver notes. Your solution should bring together three layers: IoT: Capture vitals, equipment health and caregiver activity. Full Stack: Build the platform connecting patients, caregivers, managers and families. AI/ML: Predict deterioration 24–48 hours in advance and explain why the patient may be at risk. Teams can work across all three roles, but individual contributions will also be evaluated separately.

Problem statement

Design and build a complete connected home-care system that can:

Monitor patient vitals and medical equipment in real time. Verify caregiver attendance and activity. Continue functioning during connectivity and power disruptions. Combine vitals, patient context and multilingual caregiver notes. Predict potential deterioration 24–48 hours before a serious event and trigger an appropriate escalation.

The system should demonstrate how a patient's home can operate like a small, always-aware hospital ward without compromising usability, privacy or clinical safety.
