Overview
The D.E.S.I.G.N. for BioE3 Challenge is a nationwide innovation challenge launched by the Department of Biotechnology under the BioE3 (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment and Employment) policy. It invites participants to develop creative, scientifically grounded biotechnology concepts that address real-world challenges while contributing to sustainability, economic growth, and employment generation. Category 2 is open to all Indian nationals, including college students, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, startups, and professionals. Participants may apply individually or in teams of up to five members. This is a concept-level challenge, meaning laboratory work or a working prototype is not required during the first round. Instead, participants are expected to present innovative ideas demonstrating feasibility, originality, sustainability, and alignment with the BioE3 vision. On Wooble, document your complete innovation journey—from identifying the problem and researching biotechnology concepts to developing your proposal, refining your idea, and preparing supporting diagrams and presentations. Receive expert feedback, strengthen your portfolio, and create verifiable proof of your innovation process before submitting your official proposal through the BRIC portal. Wooble independently surfaces this opportunity to help innovators discover government innovation challenges and document their work. Official registration, evaluation, funding, and implementation are managed solely by the Department of Biotechnology and BRIC.
