A data analyst turns a company's raw numbers into answers someone can act on. On a normal day you pull data from a database or a spreadsheet, clean the messy parts, work out what changed and why, and explain it to a manager in a short note or a dashboard.
SQL and Excel come first: almost every team uses them. After that, a dashboard tool like Power BI or Tableau, a little Python for the jobs a spreadsheet can't handle, and enough statistics to know when a change is real and when it's noise.
